Santa Monica Parks + Beach Improvements:
LA County Parks Needs Assessment
LA County recently conducted an unprecedented study of park needs in every community in the region, from repairs to existing parks and amenities to the addition of new features or public park space, with the goal of helping us better understand our shared park needs and priorities, regionally and locally.
The LA County Board of Supervisors will review the final report on Countywide Comprehensive Parks Needs Assessment on Tuesday, May 3. The meeting is open to the public. For location, time, and agenda, visit http://bos.lacounty.gov/Board-Meeting.
Santa Monica's Recreation & Parks Commission will discuss the community's shared park priorities, based on input received at the January 21st meeting. Recommendations will go to City Council before being sent on to LA County.
Nearly 100 community members came to our meeting on January 21 to discuss Santa Monica's shared park priorities! For those of you who missed it, the presentation is now online.
As part of LA County's assessment of park needs throughout the region, the Santa Monica Recreation & Parks Commission invites all community members to a special meeting where we will discuss Santa Monica's shared park priorities.
Identification of priority park projects is for LA County's needs assessment ONLY and does not imply that the project will be implemented. Local park improvement projects are implemented based on available funding and resources.
